LotFP Weird Fantasy Role-Playing Grindhouse Edition is a horror-fantasy game with everything you need to play in one box. Tutorial, Referee, and Rules & Magic books totaling 360 pages, plus character sheets and dice. Contains new and revised material and tons of new artwork by top talent.
Vornheim: The Complete City Kit by Zak S is both a mini-setting describing locations seen in the I Hit It With My Axe webshow and a general fantasy city playing aid. 64 pages, hardcover.
PDFs of these releases will be available to download as soon as the order is completed at no extra charge. (The Grindhouse PDFs seem to have a technical issue - this will be taken care of early in the coming week - but you can still download it and take a look at the art in the meantime)
The first 100 people to pre-order both the Grindhouse Edition and Vornheim will receive an extra Rules & Magic book (168 pages) at no extra charge.
Everyone who pre-orders the Grindhouse Edition and Vornheim will receive an oversized chart of Vornheim roll-on tables.
These offers end when the printer notifies me the books have shipped from the printer in Keuruu. I will update this blog when that happens. Might be a week from now. Might be two. Who knows?
Also for sale are Grindhouse and Flailceratops T-Shirts. Orders for these will only be taken until 11:59pm April 7 Finnish time. Only those ordered during this week, plus a few for the artists and a couple for me and my wife, will be made. Be part of the fun when people start posting pictures of themselves wearing their new shirts. :D
Because the shirts will likely be delivered at a different time than the books, be careful about pre-ordering them within the same order - if you do that I wait until everything arrives before shipping. Also, depending on what and how many of whatever you order, non-EU customers may find it advantageous when it comes to shipping costs to place multiple orders rather than just one big one. Feel free to fiddle around in the shopping cart before placing your order.
I had previously mentioned a big discount when ordering copies of the Grindhouse Edition for your whole group. That is still happening, but not as previously described - that shipping weight trick I talked about couldn't happen with the way the store software is set up, so instead I just made the discount on the boxes themselves a bit deeper to compensate.
*phew*
Yeah, I talk a lot.

Think I may have been first :D
ReplyDeleteYou might have been but I'm in the 1st 100 which was my real concern.
ReplyDeleteHoly shitballs, the orders are coming in too quick for me to record. 25+ orders so far, but no clue yet if they're all combo orders or not.
ReplyDeleteDoes the order number in the emailed receipt correlate to first hundred?
ReplyDeleteANd here i'm thinking this is all an elaborate April fools joke...
ReplyDeleteArgh, Why had I not set up a store account BEFORE today? :)
ReplyDeleteI hope I made it...
As of 0815 U.S. Eastern time the site appears to have locked up - looks like a winner Jim!
ReplyDeleteMine was one combo and one separate copy of LOTFP for a friend.
I hope that having "Order 67" means that I'm in the first 100.
ReplyDeleteOH, and James, disregard my note on the order, I typed it before I saw the field to add the code, and it didn't accept my changes (to the note) after I had left that step, if that makes any sense...
ReplyDeleteMine was a combo. It was also going to include the two print products I don't already own but I didn't budget enough. Next month I guess.
ReplyDeleteAs for how fast it went. Welcome to 1000 fans, James.
I'm in; order #91, so I hope that gets me the extra copy of the rulebook. No glitches with the website when I ordered, though Paypal was being difficult for some reason. Congrats on what seems like a successful product launch!
ReplyDeleteWhether I'm in the first 100 or not, happy to have finally pressed the buttons :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on what seems to be a successful launch.
"Order 55"
ReplyDeleteBest of luck Jim! I was flipping through the PDF (I got the same embedded font error the previous guy mentioned) and I was like "Holy Shitballs!"
I didn't buy it for the art, and I really didn't buy into all the hype about the art, but man, the art is FUCKING AWESOME!
Site was running smoothly when I ordered, which was in the first 5 minutes.
Ordered the combo as well. Order 111 looks like I missed the cutoff, oh well, would have had it if it were not for the difficulties with Paypal, took forever. On the bright side I got my order in and can't wait to get my hands on the goodies.
ReplyDelete>>Does the order number in the emailed receipt correlate to first hundred?
ReplyDeleteNo. There were orders placed in the store previous to today, some people are ordering things other than a combo, and if you go to checkout and then don't finish the order, the order # is not re-used.
Anyway, plenty of combos left:
10th combo was ordered at 3:06
20th combo was ordered at 3:08
30th combo was ordered at 3:21
40th combo was ordered at 3:52
We're at 41 combos sold as I type this, plus a bunch of Grindhouse and Vornheims individually, plus shirts.
I had a smooth experience with the order right at 3PM (8AM in Pittsburgh, PA). I was order number 56. I'm also experiencing the font problems with the download, but everything is still decipherable. Otherwise everything looks great!
ReplyDeleteYay! Very excited about this purchase, it was probably the single most anticipated wallet drain of the year so far. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteBTW, maybe I'm missing something obvious, but is there a link somewhere to download the PDF's if you've pre-ordered the books?
How can I tell if I made it!?! Also, great product can't wait to have it.
ReplyDeleteJust to check, I looked and I'm having the font issue.
ReplyDelete@Marcus
ReplyDeleteIts on the Account tab, then click Downloads. Or at least that is how I found it.
Issues with the PDFs will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to deal with, sorry. Slammed right now with all the bookkeeping involved with the orders coming in AND a full schedule for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteSomebody start a thread over at the LotFP board and everyone note the issues, and be as specific as possible, there, so I can reference it when I get to the issue.
(glad I didn't make the PDFs ready to buy on their own yet...)
A few people with accents in their names and addresses have paid but their orders are not processing as "complete" due to the system not liking the accents - and so you can't yet download the PDFs. I will try to manually toggle those orders to "complete," but that probably won't happen until tomorrow. I do have your orders though so you're not missing out on the combo deal.
If you've paid by e-check or bank transfer, I am counting your order from the time you entered it, as long as the payment actually clears before the pre-orders end.
50th Combo order as of 4:24pm.
Hmm, no accent in my name or address, but I still get nothing when I hit the Download button on my Acct. Oh, the cosmic horror! Ah well, I expect it'll be dealt with soon. :)
ReplyDeleteHad a little Pay Pal trouble...but I'm in! My order number is pretty high - is there anyway to confirm top 100 status?
ReplyDelete60th combo order made 4:54pm.
ReplyDeleteCool. Looks like I made it into the 100 then :) Not that it makes a hug difference, but it does make me feel like part of an elite group.
ReplyDeleteHad no problem with the purchase, although I did order everything in one go. I'll see what issues, if any, I have with the downloads later tonight, and post in that thread if anything pops up.
James, are you happy with the response so far?
Very!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the big releases, James. I have to say, this is one of the easier online stores I've used recently. The extra work shows, thanks!
ReplyDeleteverification: destiffe - the result of when she says "not tonight, I've got a headache"
arghh #114 and it seemed like the store JUST opened! you others are QUICK. I assumed I was in on the first 100 for SURE. :\
ReplyDeleteKreg, you are probably ok, unless there were 40 combos ordered in the 1/2 hr after James posted 60 had been ordered.
ReplyDeletebtw, the art is AWESOME! and totally NSFW ;) but I knew that... shame I'm at work. I have to keep minimizing the window every time I hear foot steps, or skip past the more graphic full page stuff when I'd rather be able to soak it in...
James,
ReplyDeleteI'll drop you a line later (when things calms down) about the duplicate Gardening Society order... Nothing ever seems to work properly with my PayPal account :/
I just downloaded the PDFs... VERY nice. This makes me even more excited about Carcosa...
The medusa pic is WIN!
ReplyDeleteCombo Ordered !
ReplyDeleteHopefully my long review of the deluxe edition I posted in a french forum will brought you some new french customers.
Combo done! Hopefully soon enough. Been looking forward to this for a long time. Kudos to you and Zak for putting out a sick product. Can't wait to play it. PDFs downloading now.
ReplyDeleteDefinite font issues with the LotFP PDF here. Complete gibberish on my tablet (okay, granted, not the Adobe viewer, but still it handles 99% of stuff) and even in the spiffiest latest Adoble Reader X on my desktop their are missing characters and layout problems.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this'll all get sorted, just wanted to add my voice.
At least I can browse all the cool/disturbing art!
Love the artwork. Just skimmed through the huge 300+ page PDF, and I like what I see. I can see that this was a joy to design, it shows. And really, the art rocks. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAre there many new spells in this. Seems like there are a few I don't recall seeing, but maybe that's because I'm blind.
I'm experiencing font problems with the Grindhouse ed. pdf too ; ligatures display as blank spaces.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the big release! I put in my pre-order for Vornheim early this morning (couldn't get both this week.) Have fun!

ReplyDeleteI won one of the contests to get a free Grindhouse edition (YAY!) but I want to pick up a tshirt. Are those sizes European or American? When I was there I remember sizes running a bit smaller for my tubby American butt.
ReplyDeleteWoops, missed this one in the confusion.
ReplyDeleteThe shirts are actually being done in the US so American sizes... cheaper, even with shipping and customs duty, than having them done locally. That's nuts, and maybe I missed a few good shirt makers, but I checked a fair few so here we are.
(you are right that US sizes are roomier than the same European size, although not horribly so)
