Yesterday I received my first ever set of Gamescience dice!
Yes, I have gulped the Elitist Dice Marketing Kool-Aid!
I now have eight precision edge high impact dice - the standard 7-piece set plus an old-school 0-9 d20, all in opaque crimson.
... but what color should I ink the number with? I have no idea! Tell me!
(not red, smartass)

I'd do white if I had it available.
ReplyDeleteIf not, black is always the obvious answer.
White is most readable on red in variable lighting conditions. A white gel pen does the job well -- just be careful to let it dry properly before handling, it takes a bit longer than spirit-based sharpies
ReplyDeleteSky blue. Love that contrast.
ReplyDeleteYellow. Gives it that "oh your PC is on fire" effect.
ReplyDeleteBuy them inked off of ebay... :D
ReplyDeleteI prefer white. Here's my attempt at inking some opaque GameScience dice with white acrylic.

Yellow.
ReplyDeleteNo doy. The Colour Out of Space.
ReplyDeleteGlue + gold or silver leaf?
ReplyDeleteFor maximum contrast, how about bright green.
ReplyDeleteI did mine in purple. That didn't work. Neither did green. So I went with black.

ReplyDeleteLime green crayon, if those are the type of dice that you can color with rubbing crayon on them.
ReplyDeleteTotally white on red for legibility
ReplyDeleteI’ve found that white crayon works best on every color I or my friends have. Even when I thought it wouldn’t be. On the other hand, all our GS dice (so far) are gems rather than opaques.
ReplyDeleteMy gf is an assistant principal at an elementary school. She asked the teachers if they happened to have any unused white crayons, and they did! We’re supplied with dice crayons for life now. ^_^
Gold nail polish.
