And I Thought I Was Delusional...

So just before she leaves for work, the wife asks me, "What if your game is wildly successful, and you do five printings, 1000 copies each, and they all sell out straight away! Can I take six months off of work and you pay for our upkeep?"

  1. Ah, the old canard of how it's not *really* work unless you're a) in a suit, in an office, 9-5, or b) covered in oil and bashing metal.

  2. Absurd! Four months tops. She has to allow for whatever new toys you'll be buying...

    Ciao!

  3. Hmmm...sounds like my wife's attitude; she will only (grudgingly) permit me gaming time if there is a chance that I can sell the results. Otherwise, it's "you can waste time with your friends when your chores are done"

  4. My wife has long ago realized that nothing I do with this hobby, including selling collectibles or running conventions, will ever lead to much money. It's good to crush their dreams early...

  5. You've got people ready to hand you money at a moment's notice. That's somewhat successful, I think.

  6. I'm in complete support of her optimism. We all fool ourselves into thinking the world is a much different place than it really might be once in a while --- why not enjoy that feeling? I know my occasional spirals and black moods are not much fun... If you are going to have a delusion, why not have an enjoyable one?

  7. >>why not enjoy that feeling?

Because I chase my delusions and make plans off of them. We're in big trouble if she starts doing that too!
