Promo Photo!

Marjut Mykkänen posing with the art she modeled for!

(that's the last I want to hear about the cover having unnaturally red hair...)

  1. Er, Jim. It might be her hair color, but I do believe it came from a bottle. That can't be natural '_

  2. There is no proof of that, and even if there were I'm sure I'd succeed in my save to disbelieve it.

  4. This is one of my all-time favourite game book covers... obviously helped by my weakness for red-haired ladies ;)

Seeing Marjut 'in the flesh' has only increased my enthusiasm for it. Will she be appearing on any future LotFP covers?

  5. Sorry if this has been covered, but when was the cover art edited? I can understand why from a sales perspective - just curious.

  6. The cover art edit was made at the same time as the cover art for use in advertisements, promo posters for the US, and in case I lost my nerve just before going to press.

The box itself has the "real" uncensored cover, but I figure I'd save some people some hassle by using the "edited" version as the blog header.

If the right project comes along and I can convince her again.

  8. Thanks, Jim. The poster version on the wall - is that commercially available or just something you had done for yourself at a print shop? 'Cos I reckon you could earn a few extra sheckles selling copies of that (if you're not already!)

  9. Just ones for me and those involved in the cover. And the ones I sent to the US, because they were so oversized, didn't have standard poster tubes and they didn't arrive in the best condition...

  10. Shame. I would have liked one for my gamesroom stairwell.

  11. Contact the artist about making prints available. (please! If she finds she can make some decent coin off of prints of the work she does for me, maybe she'll cut me a price break. :D)

  12. She should be at GENCON next year, as should you. Promote, promote, promote!!!

  13. ... somehow I don't think my wife would sign onto the idea of me going to the US with Marjut... :P

If I make GenCon next year, Luna (model for the snake demon) will be there though.

  14. Kind of like the Mona Lisa. But better. :-)

  15. Dammit. I want one of those posters, too.

Some of the best RPG art ever, man. Like a combo of Red Sonja and Solomon Kane...plus snake demons? Seriously. All time great stuff.
