Any Canadians Receive Their Box Yet?

Reports are coming in from everywhere else that copies are landing.

None that I can identify as Canadian thus far though, and at least one seems to be quite delayed. I remember all the horror stories about Canadian customs from bands, labels, and mailorder houses from my metal zine days.

Anyone?

  1. I didn't order a boxed set, but I did get my order of the three new modules a few days ago.

  3. A few years ago, I realized the USPS was afraid of the Canadian postal service/customs.

  4. I've had nothing but troubles with the Canadian postal service. It's easier for me to get things delivered in timly manner to Australia, and I live in Minnesota (a state that shares a boarder with Canada.)

Three years ago I made a trade with a friend in rural Ireland who warned me that customs were hell and it would take forever to get through, meanwhile I sent an ebay package to Ottawa. Both trade items got to their destination in less then half the time it took for the Canadian customer to get their item. I sure hope domestic mail in Canada isn't so tardy.

  5. Mine arrived today down here in Florida.
I am staggered by the quality!

  6. Still waiting patiently in London, Ontario, Canada.

Canada post and customs are a total crap shoot. Sometimes faster than one has any right to expect, other times the tardiness is the stuff of legend.

Have you done anything to raise any red flags with Canadian officialdom? :)

  11. Not in Canada, but I got mine here in Minnesota today. (Next time, I'll remember to plump for priority shipping!)

Absolutely knocked out by the production values. I mean, I read the blog, so I had an idea, but holding it in my hands is a totally different experience.

Can't remember when I was this excited about a game. Also, the look of the thing impressed my wife, as well -- not an easy task.

Any chance there will be additional copies of the Rules and Magic books available? I can easily see friends of mine fighting over them, and I'd like to have spares...

  12. Good to know that Canada isn't keeping all of them under lock and key!

I'm working on the PDFs right now (adventures first...) so that should help a bit. As for the physical copies, I do have extras, but I have to hold them back right now because after hand-assembling over 600 boxes, I have to assume I screwed a few of them up and I have to be able to supply replacement bits.

  17. Sorry, James.

If I wasn't heading off to Florida Sunday morning I'd drop by and loan you my copy.

  18. Okay, finally got mine in Ottawa, five days later than id, and Canda Post demanded an additonal fee/bribe of $26.82. 'the fuck?

    It's beautiful, BTW.

  19. And mine arrived today in London, Ontario. All the bits are present and accounted for and looking very, very nice. Thanks, James.

Ned: $26.82? What, did someone at the post office feel like going out for dinner tonight? Bloody hell.

  20. Good question, Glenn.

According to the label, they decided the item in question was both "games, electronic" and "watches" (!) and taxed me for both, then added a $5 "handling fee."

    This ain't over.

  21. Yeah, I'd file a complaint about that one. No watches and no electronics have been included in anything I've shipped out, obviously!
