Isle of the Unknown Cover Art

While I'm on the boat to Sweden hoping a Poseiden Adventure LARP breaks out, I decided to go to the ship's internet kiosk and check my email... Geoffrey's approved the cover art! Here it is...

Art by Cynthia Sheppard. This isn't the whole piece; it's a wraparound so this is only really half of it, but this is what will be on the front cover panel.

  1. Can never go wrong with Cynthia Sheppard! I'm getting her painting of the LoTFP cover framed for my birthday present (I bought the poster from Cynthia way back, but have never been able to afford to have it properly framed).

  2. It has a certain Crystal Dragon WTF feel. I like it.

  3. I've liked the art previews for this project so far, but didn't care for this piece at all.

  4. I'm not really sure where Mathias is coming from, but from everything that I've seen for this project (mainly from all the art briefs sent to me and what they implied) this image captures everything it's about PERFECTLY. Plus it's gorgeous.

  5. I like the art and especially the colours. It is so far from the usual fantasy clichés!

  6. Between Geoffrey's vague hints about it and the beautiful, intriguing art for it, I think I might have to buy Isle of the Unknown.

  7. James would know more than me about the publication date, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for October. ALL the writing is done. ALL the art is done. The cartography (one map) is mostly done. The layout is being done, and I've seen some sample pages (which look great). There just doesn't seem to be much more to do on this book.

But, like I said, James is the authority on this question. :)

  9. "I knew Geoffrey was some variety of hippie... ;)"

    A child-raping & murdering hippie like Charles Manson? ;o)

(Please note the winky above. It indicates that I ask my question to make fun of the stupidity of the assholes who've accused Geoffrey of stuff like that -- NOT to ridicule, or even just criticize, Geoffrey himself.)
